The Tippecanoe School Corporation has entered into an agreement with Sycamore Springs to provide educational services for students who are receiving treatment at the Sycamore Springs facility on Rome Drive in Lafayette.

Starting in August, Klondike Elementary School teacher Kathy Rogers will have a classroom at Sycamore Springs to help students keep up with their academic coursework while receiving treatment.

Students could be undergoing treatment for a variety of mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma and adjustment issues.

"The focus of the partnership is to prevent students from falling behind in their coursework as they receive professional services," says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. "This is an excellent opportunity for the students to have continuity of care while continuing to achieve their academic goals. Our hope is that this program will help students overcome challenges that often inhibit their ability to reach their full potential."

"Sycamore Springs is excited to partner with the Tippecanoe School Corporation in this endeavor," says Chief Operating Officer Heather Hintz. "It is our goal to keep our children in the community during mental health crises, to give them the skills they need to be overcome the difficulties they are facing and start them on a journey to recovery. This partnership will allow us to meet their both mental health and educational needs."
